Drone aerial video in Metz

Free quote — aerial video in Metz

A film shot in Metz has a ready-made opening: arriving along the Moselle, revealing the bridges, then Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Metz as the tracking shot unfolds. Our pilots write these shots with you at the scout, then fly them in the chosen light window. With 118,489 inhabitants, Metz generates steady demand in Grand Est: a pilot covering the area prices your mission within one working day.

The Metz sky requires map work: former air base 128 at Metz-Frescaty, to the south, closed in 2012 (check Géoportail for any residual restrictions), Nancy-Ochey air base 133 spreads training zones across the region, and Metz-Nancy-Lorraine airport lies some twenty kilometres south. The dense historic centre, from the cathedral to the German imperial quarter, falls under the built-up-area scenario with Moselle prefecture notification. Local demand rests on spectacular heritage — Saint-Étienne cathedral with France's largest expanse of stained glass, the Pompidou-Metz and its undulating roof, the imperial quarter bidding for UNESCO status — plus technopole offices, inspections of Moselle river structures and a cross-border market oriented towards Luxembourg.

Flight rules in Metz

The shooting plan in Metz is set around controlled airspace (Ancienne base aérienne 128 de Metz-Frescaty, fermée en 2012 (restrictions résiduelles à vérifier)): some camera moves are replanned at lower height or on another axis after coordination with air traffic control.

A drone shoot follows open-category rules in clear areas and moves to the specific category (STS-01, prior declaration) as soon as it flies over a populated zone; productions receive insurance certificates and permits. Full regulations and rates: aerial video across France →
